Welcome to Teach Sew Love, where my three passions – education, sewing, and family – intersect for one big, crazy adventure. I am Isabelle Selak, stay at home mom to three crazy kids, wife to one awesome guy, sister, daughter, and friend to many others. Our family moved 300 miles to Morgan Hill, California a year and a half ago, which is when my time as a full time high school teacher and librarian ended (for now) and my time as a SAHM mom began.  As I struggled to adjust to my new normal, I found that sewing was a good way to find a little “me” time and gave me a sense of accomplishment when I finished a project, something that I missed from my old job and had yet to find as a SAHM.

Through a year long journey of sewing a new project every week, I have learned so much about who I am and who I want to be. I have found new joy in the art of being a mom and homemaker. I learned that I don’t need as much “me” time as I thought, but I still enjoy stealing it where I can.  I discovered a passion for sewing and quilting that I had no idea existed, but that I plan to nurture and enjoy for years to come.

Teach Sew Love is a space for me to share my projects, let you know about my new discoveries, and hopefully a place where we can develop our love for crafting together.  Thanks for joining me!
